It could be an Adobe Acrobat Reader error which is restricting the PDF files from being removed. Try un-installing Adobe Acrobat Reader then un-install the software.

do a search for items left for the previous version, then delete them all with care, maybe backup first.
There is another antivirus ( or the same) program that you must uninstall first.
Did you uninstall the previous antivirus first?
