Does anyone know if the"avira"free antivirus software. Is it any good?

If it's free either the creator is part of the freeware movement (could be a good thing) or it's full of spyware, or it's new and they want people to try it. I stand by Norton Antivirus myself. You can get it at Wall-Mart for $30 - $40 give or take or you can order it online

I'm not familiar with that program. However Avast Anti virus has a free for home use version. You need to register it, but that also is free. It updates itself daily (or when you connect to the Internet) and is a highly rated program. I've used it on my computer in the past, and still have it installed on my wife's computer.

Avira is the very best free antivirus you ever get. I highly recommend it.
hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus and protect your PC. but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
