I have a symantec antivirus client installed but its corrupted so i have to remove it. But after that its still in the windows add/remove program list and cannot be remove. when im installing another kind of antivirus software it still detects the previous sofware. I tried searching for it manually but it cannot be found.

start up in safe mode (tap f8 during start up)
then try to remove the program...
if you have the disk put it in and see if it has an uninstall in the setup options...
