i just got a brand new laptop, but im a music freak, and i really want to download limewire because its been the easiest for me. i have antivirus software and spyware software, so could i just use the software after im done downloading my music? would my computer be clear of viruses if i used limewire and then scanned after every time i downloaded songs?

As long as you have good quality antivirus and spyware software you'll be fine. It would be preferable to set the software to run in real time so if something does pop up it can be dealt with immediately. Since limewire users share their media files, it would be counterproductive to pass on a virus. Limewire can be found at www.download.com or on the cnet website under downloads. Hope that helps.

Your anti virus software should be set for realtime scanning %26 any files downloaded with a virus would be automatically quarantined. Ensure you regularly update your virus definition files through your anti virus software.
You will also need to open the ports through your firewall to allow limewire download traffic.

If you have good anti software, it would scan as your requests are coming in and it would notify you of possible threats. On the other hand, If you run a scan when they are complete, you would be safe. If in doubt about any (by you or your anti ware) delete and look for an alternative version.
