Can I detect and eliminate a trojan from my thumb drive on a Mac with antivirus software?

I wiped my thumb drive on a mac a few days ago after it kept coming up with a warning about "trojan.shipli" detected. I deleted it as well as wiping the whole drive after moving off my key files. This trojan is only detected in PC's. Is there an way to eliminate it totally from a mac?

if it does infect your system, just reinstall Mac OS.

If it hasnt, then just put it in the trash bin and empty it out.
go to \

Sure. Because only Microsoft Windows systems are plagued with trojans, using a Mac to clean up the mess for Windows is a great way of going about it. You know your Mac won't get infected by the Windows-only malware :)

Lets take a look at how this thing brings Windows down:

Note how the "Systems Affected" is just "Windows" - your Mac is safe.

So, it hits the Windows "registry" as well as doing some other nasties.

You will, of course, need some anti-virus software for Windows, whilst your Mac can simply delete the files on the USB drive. It sounds like you've already deleted the files, so its job done there!

Like the article says, double-check you've cleaned up the infection of your Windows system by running a full virus scan.
