You could use another computer to scan it with, pending the computer has a scanner that will hold the weight of the computer.

I would start with taking the ENTIRE computer apart. Every piece.

Then scan each piece as most will fit on today's scanners. However keep in mind that the little pins on the motherboard etc will most likely scratch the screen glass on the scanner if you drag it off and onto the plater.

Be sure to scan both the top and bottoms of each peripheral, hd, floppy drive, cdrom etc for the best effect.

I wouldn't bother scanning your case or monitor however.

You cannot scan for virus without using anti-virus software. Why would you want to?
Unless you know what you are looking for. I would NOT try to dig for files w/out antivirus definitions included in antivirus software.
